The mission of the Elm Fork Education Center (EFEC) is to develop and implement premiere environmental education programs.  As a volunteer for Elm Fork you’ll have lots of opportunities to connect with home schooled students, ages 8-18, through lab activities and science demos during the weekly STEM lab and Math lab. For these labs, we will act not only as lab assistants, setting up and demonstrating the lab, but also as tutors and mentors, discussing and coaching students through challenging math and science concepts. TAMS students also have the opportunity to volunteer at the Family STEM workshops, which provide hands-on learning activities for the whole family! Volunteer hours for these events are flexible; even if you cannot stay the whole time, still sign up! We would be happy to work with you and try to find someone to cover part of your shift. Hope to see you soon as an Elm Fork Volunteer!

About Me: Hello baby juniors! My name is Smruthi Senthil and I am so excited to be one of your Elm For Education Center committee heads this year! Elm Fork is an amazing place to volunteer and it really makes a positive impact on the children who come to learn about science on the field trips or the home school lab. My hobbies include being a BTS stan, binge-watching Netflix, and sometimes reading. If you have any questions don't hesitate to email me or FaceBook message me!

About Me: Hello friends! I'm Lily, and I'm one of your Elm Fork committee heads for the year. Elm Fork was one of my favorite activities to do junior year, and I know you guys will enjoy it, too. Working with the elementary schoolers on campus is so uplifting; each and every one of them have such high spirits that you can't witness anywhere else. I'm also a senior mentor with Robotics Captain Rasna Baweja. I volunteer with quite a few HOPE committees, so you'll see me around quite a bit. Other than that, I am an avid cat person and Houston enthusiast. While we are at the Texas Academy of Math and Science, I love the arts and humanities, including theatre, literature, and history. I love making friends, so please never hesitate to flash a smile my way and I'll be sure to send one right back. Looking forward to seeing you at the Elm Fork Education Center this year!
